    Injured on holiday in Austria?

Austria is one of the most breathtaking countries to visit, no matter what time of the year you go. The mountains of the Tyrol region look stunning when blanketed with snow, welcoming skiers from many other European countries. However, they also look lovely in the spring and summer, with their range of greenery welcoming visitors to explore in more detail.

With destinations such as Salzburg and Innsbruck to visit while you are there, you will wonder why you never visited Austria sooner.

Am I covered to claim compensation if I have an accident abroad?

You would hope there would be no need to claim compensation because you wouldn’t want to suffer an accident in the first place. However, even if you are careful you might suffer because of something someone else does.

For example, let’s say you are booked into a hotel by your UK tour operator and the hotel turns out to be inferior compared to what you were led to believe you should expect. If the room is dirty and unclean and yet you could not be moved when you asked to be, the tour operator would be liable for any illness you suffered as a result of the poor conditions. Similarly if you were forced to use a bathroom that was unfit for purpose and you suffered an injury in these conditions, the tour operator who booked the hotel on your behalf would be liable.
