Injured by faulty construction site equipment

The construction industry is filled with heavy machinery, moving equipment and dangerous materials therefore, it is important to train workers adequately to ensure that no accidents or injuries occur. Faulty construction site equipment can be the cause of serious injury, particularly when the machinery is heavy and dangerous to begin with. Faulty equipment can be avoided by simply maintaining the equipment on a regular basis and by training those who use it to spot when it should not be in use. Those who are around the equipment should also be trained to stay out of harm’s way when it is in use and protective equipment should be provided to anyone in the vicinity who could be injured in the event of an accident with dangerous machinery. If the equipment is in use when it shouldn’t be and malfunctions, there may be someone else at fault and you could make a compensation claim in the event of an injury.

    Potential injuries or accidents

Faulty equipment could be due to a failure to maintain the equipment or a failure to repair the equipment if it malfunctions. It may also occur when the person repairing the equipment uses faulty parts or does not carry out the repair properly. A trained expert should be available when construction equipment is in use. A trained individual should also build any equipment such as scaffolding and the equipment should come from a reputable company. If you have suffered an accident due to faulty equipment, you could suffer an injury that makes it impossible for you to return to work in the short or long-term. You may be able to make a compensation claim to the party at fault if there is evidence of negligence.
