Industrial accidents cause serious injuries

Working with machinery and at height can cause serious injury if proper care is not taken to minimise risks and control hazards. Industrial accidents are usually caused as a result of a failure to follow safety rules, inadequate supervision or as a result of negligence on the part of your employer. At Accident Advice Helpline, we answer calls regarding a wide variety of accidents in industry so you may be able to receive personal injury compensation as a result of one of the following accidents.

Types of industrial accidents

You may be working at height, manual handling, using dangerous moving machinery or working with chemicals. All of these are dangerous situations to be in every day which is why your employer absolutely must train you on how to handle these situations properly to reduce the risk of accident or injury. Industrial accidents may occur if there is a chemical spill, you are struck by a heavy object, you are exposed to extremes of temperature, atmosphere or environment or if you are caught in moving machinery or between objects. There is no end to the accidents that can occur in an industrial environment which is why it is so important that you are prepared and well informed on the risks.

Employer responsibility

You must take some of the responsibility to keep yourself safe but if you have been improperly trained or other employees are not trained then serious industrial accidents can, and most likely will, occur. Your employer is responsible for you, your fellow employees and any visitors to the site which means that they are bound by law to train you in order to avoid serious incidents. If you or someone else has an accident due to the negligence of your employer, you should report it immediately. If you have sustained an injury as a result, then AAH is here to help you fight for your rights as an employee. Esther Rantzen is our patron which means that we are here to fight for you as a person and your right to be safe while at work.

Industrial accidents can result from the improper use or maintenance of forklifts, machinery/equipment, electricity and chemicals. However, if you have had an accident and you want to know whether you can claim for personal injury compensation then you can call us on our Freephone number to discuss your case with our trained professionals.
