    Holiday accident compensation claims

Holidays are a time of relaxation and enjoyment. Unfortunately, like other areas of life, holiday time is not immune from accidents. When people are unfortunate enough to become victims of accidents while spending time on holiday, they may be able to make holiday accident compensation claims.

Foreign holidays have been popular for decades, but no matter whether someone is holidaying in the UK, or soaking up the sun on a foreign beach, accidents can happen and when they do a claim for holiday accident compensation can be made.

In some ways it is not surprising that people suffer accidents while on holiday. Freed from the constraints of home, holidaymakers tend to become involved in activities they would not normally do at home. During their summer stay they might engage in activities such as windsurfing or bungee jumping, while in the winter the snowy slopes are a magnet for skiers. These kinds of activities increase the chance of accidents that lead to personal injury.

To qualify for holiday accident compensation, the injured party should not have been the cause of their injury because of their own actions. It must be down to someone else’s negligence or deliberate act. A company or public body can also be deemed to have been liable if its negligence led to someone becoming injured.

Exactly where the holiday accident occurred should be no bar to claiming holiday accident compensation. Admittedly, laws abroad may be different from this country, but providing that liability can be proved, it is still possible to make a claim.

No matter where the accident took place, the process for making the claim can appear bewildering. That is why it is always advisable to contact solicitors who specialise in claims for holiday accident compensation. Here at Accident Advice Helpline, we have experts who are experienced in dealing with these types of claims. If you have suffered an accident while on holiday and are seeking to make a claim, you can make initial contact with us on our helpline. Calls are free from landlines and at standard rate from mobiles.

Based on the information you give them, our staff will be able to assess whether you have grounds for a holiday accident claim. They will explain what you need to do, such as getting your injuries checked by a doctor if this has not been done already. They are also able to advise what else is needed to back up your claim, such as witness statements.

It is important that you contact us about your holiday accident as soon as possible because there are strict time limits for making claims.

If we believe that your claim for personal injury following your injury on holiday is sufficiently strong, we will put your case together. The party that is responsible for your accident may contest it or admit responsibility for it. If they admit liability and make an offer of compensation we will discuss with you whether it should be accepted.

If your claim is contested, or you reject the offer given, we will provide representation in court. You will not be liable to pay us any fees because will represent you on a no win, no fee* basis.
