Researchers with bright ideas about how to improve workplace health and safety
are being invited to bid for funding.
The grants are being made available by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). It wants to hear from people with fresh ideas about how to influence health and safety practices and policies.
Applications sought worldwide
This year’s funding will cover research into everything from health and well-being to learning and training methods.
Money will also be given to researchers looking into organisational change and health and safety performance reporting.
Applicants, who can be from any part of the world, do not require a background in the field but must be able to show that they can bring new thinking to the field.
The IOSH’s research and development coordinator, Mary Ogungbeje, says it is hoped the process will result in research that can provide a basis for effective workplace health and safety policies and practices.
Projects that may lead to useful guidance or case studies will also be considered.
