What are the fees involved with making a claim?

What are the fees involved with making a claim?

Many people who contact Accident Advice Helpline ask what the fees involved with making a claim are. The good news is that we work on a no win no fee* basis, so there’s absolutely nothing to pay upfront. This means that anyone with a valid claim can pursue it with our help. We believe that being low on money should never be a barrier to accessing justice.

What is a no win no fee* service?

When you claim using our no win no fee* service, it means we don’t charge you anything to start your claim. If you lose, you won’t have to pay us anything, and after the event insurance can protect you from having to pay costs for the other side. If you win, our costs will usually be paid by the losing side, so you won’t need to worry about money being taken from your payout. We want you to be able to enjoy the full amount of compensation awarded to you.

    Are there any hidden costs?

Pursuing a compensation claim can sometimes involve a lot of travel, and there can also be associated costs such as paying for overnight accommodation. We aim to tackle this in two ways. Firstly, we streamline cases so that travel is kept to a minimum. Apart from anything else, we know that it can be physically difficult to get around after an accident. Most cases can be effectively organised over the phone, with couriers delivering documents when necessary. Secondly, we encourage claimants to hang on to all their receipts. In this way, we can add any extra costs to the claim so that a compensation payout should include money to cover them.

By keeping careful track of issues like this, we do our best to make sure that you won’t have to deal with any hidden costs. Because we only get paid if you win, you can be sure that we are always on your side.

    What guarantees do I have?

Our no win no fee* system is structured around a conditional fee agreement. This is a legal mechanism with very strict rules designed to protect the consumer. It means that we are legally required to keep our promises about not charging you if you lose. We would be in serious trouble if we misled you about the fees involved in making a claim.

Alongside this, you can see on our website that we have lots of testimonials from satisfied customers. If you don’t feel safe just taking our word for it, consider what other people say about how we operate. You can search for our name on the web and see that we have a good reputation. Because our reputation is important to us, it’s in our interests to make sure that you’re happy with the service we provide.

If there is anything about this that still worries you, phone our helpline for free on 0800 689 0500 and you can discuss it with our advisors. That won’t cost you any money either, even if you choose not to pursue a claim. Our interest is in making sure you that get the compensation to which you’re entitled.
