Father’s grief as he visits the site of his son’s fatal accident

By David Brown on August 18, 2010

Chef Jonathan Dunbar yesterday visited the spot where his five-year-old son Archie met a tragic end, near the family home in Gullane, East Lothian.

Archie had been playing with friends at around two o’clock yesterday afternoon when, for unclear reasons, he was struck by a unmarked lorry that was making a delivery and knocked off his bike. He was killed instantly.

Both the lorry driver and a family who witnessed the accident are said to be in ‘deep shock,’ with the driver receiving treatment at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
