The very thought of suffering vomiting and diarrhoea is unpleasant, and it is even more unpleasant to actually go through the experience. Most of us – if not all of us – will go through it at some point in our lives though.

Since no one wants to have these symptoms, it is important to do all we can to prevent them from occurring. For example, we should all ensure all food we buy is stored properly until it is ready to be used.
In these cases we should make sure the food is kept at the appropriate temperature and is stored away from other foods that could potentially be contaminated by it. This is why food that is cooked should always be kept away from raw food.

Some bugs are passed through food but can be caught from other people too. Good hygiene procedures should be in place in all public places such as hotels, cruise ships and other places where lots of people meet.
