    Compensation for nursery school accidents

Children can be vulnerable to accidents as they are growing up and getting used to their bodies and the world around them. It is inevitable they will have some accidents and falls as they are growing up. When a parent entrusts a nursery to look after their children it can be upsetting to hear their child has been hurt while they were not around. It is important that nursery school accidents are taken seriously by the nursery and are recorded and reported to parents.

Parents trust that the nursery school they have chosen will know how to look after their child and to take care of them and keep them safe, including from possible injuries. Not all injuries can be avoided, but if the staff have the correct training they will be equipped to prevent many nursery school accidents by being aware and by knowing how to take care of children.

    First aid at nurseries

If a nursery school accident does occur, there should be staff trained in first aid available at the nursery to attend to any minor injuries and assess whether the child needs further medical attention. Usually nursery schools have a recording system for injuries that happen and this should be used so that a record is kept of accidents. Any repeated accidents in certain areas for example should be looked into to see if there is a reason why they keep occurring. If your child is hurt at nursery school and proper first aid has not been administered, you could be entitled to compensation if your child is badly injured. What happens next?

No parent wants to hear that their child has been hurt, but in the event that an accident does happen and proper care has not been taken to reduce the likelihood of an accident, you may be entitled to compensation. It could be that something happened as a result of a lack of training, or a staff member has shown negligence which has led to your child’s injury. At Accident Advice Helpline we have plenty of experience in the industry and we can help you make a claim with our no, win no fee policy and no upfront fees.
