    Compensation for gym class injuries

You won’t come across too many gym class injuries that happen in the average gym class at school. It is good to know this is largely because schools take every conceivable precaution to ensure the equipment they provide, and the gym itself, is all in good condition and is safe to use. The teacher taking the gym class should also be experienced and know how to teach the subject while ensuring the pupils are always safe and can enjoy the experience as well.

If your child should arrive home one day having suffered gym class injuries, you would be well within your rights to discover what had happened. In some cases Accident Advice Helpline has dealt with, there has been clear evidence that negligence on the part of the school was to blame for the accident.

What could potentially go wrong in a gym class?

Gym class can be the scene of the odd accident that happens from time to time that is unavoidable. However, while most incidents are very minor some are more severe, perhaps resulting in broken bones for example. The school has a duty of care towards its pupils to provide a safe place to learn and for lessons to be provided in a safe and responsible manner. If this is not the case there is the potential for things to go wrong.

Accident Advice Helpline will always look to see whether negligence has been present when an accident of this nature occurs. A gym can potentially be the scene of a nasty accident if negligence should arise, and if this happens there is the chance that a compensation claim may be warranted.

    Enjoying gym lessons

We should point out here that the majority of pupils will enjoy their gym classes and never have any kind of accident at any point. However, there can potentially be situations where things might go wrong, and if they do and they are the fault of someone else, compensation might reasonably be payable.
