Compensation for fall injuries at work

The workplace is generally quite a busy, fast-paced environment and depending on the type of work it can involve a lot of equipment, machinery and members of staff. With this in mind it is completely understandable that there are many cases of injuries being sustained during an accident at work.

One of the most common accidents we see at Accident Advice Helpline is fall injuries at work; with 15 years’ experience in the industry we are extremely familiar in how to successfully claim compensation for anyone who has sustained a fall injury in an accident that was not their fault.

    Preventing fall injuries

Falling at work can cause a range of injuries, from mild problems like bruises and sprains, to more severe injuries including things like brain and head damage, internal injuries, back and spinal problems.

Some of these injuries can be life-threatening, potentially fatal, or they can leave long-lasting, even permanent damage.

Fortunately all of these fall injuries at work can be avoided if the correct safety procedures are put in place. Here are some of the ways in which fall injuries can be avoided:

    • Ensuring all workers are wearing their protective and safety equipment at all times, so that if they do have a fall they are protected. It is the responsibility of the workplace to provide these to all members of staff
    • Making sure warning signs are correctly shown to advise workers of any potential dangers
    • Ensuring all workers are skilled and properly qualified to complete their job
    • Providing training, including general health and safety training.

    Compensation for fall injuries

Though we know compensation won’t make everything better and it won’t take away your suffering from your injuries, we also appreciate that there is some comfort in those responsible for your injuries being held accountable.

Furthermore, compensation can be used to cover medical expenses, periods of absence from work, or unemployment should you have to get another job. Claiming is very easy; all you need to do is contact an expert personal injury claim specialist who can take care of the entire process for you, someone like Accident Advice Helpline.

If you have recently been involved in a fall accident at work and have sustained injuries as a result, call Accident Advice Helpline on 0800 689 0500 to see if you are eligible to claim, and if so, how much you could be owed.
