    Common causes of supermarket accidents

Have you been injured in a supermarket? You might be eligible to claim personal injury compensation, whether you’ve suffered injuries after a slip, trip or fall or some other kind of accident. Accidents in supermarkets can happen all too easily – it’s a busy place with lots of people, as well as electrical equipment such as fridge and freezers. But what are some of the common causes of supermarket accidents?

Have you been injured in a supermarket?

Common causes of supermarket accidents could include:

    • Slips or trips caused by things on the floor – for example fruit rolling around, spillages in the aisles
    • Objects falling from height such as signs and banners above the aisles
    • Electric shock from freezers or fridges
    • Food poisoning from contaminated food
    • Trapping your fingers in a freezer door
    • Tripping over damaged flooring or a loose mat

Obviously, you should report your injuries to the supermarket manager, so that they can record your accident in their accident book. Once you have recovered from your injuries, you might want to think about making a claim for personal injury compensation. It’s up to the supermarket owners to ensure their store is a safe place for shoppers, and if you or a member of your family has been injured, you’re entitled to make a claim for personal injury compensation.

Accident Advice Helpline has over 15 years’ experience helping people to claim compensation for supermarket accidents, so whether you’ve sprained your ankle or suffered a serious head injury, we can help you too.
