    The claim process

Perhaps one of the most important parts of making a claim for compensation, due to an accident at work, on the roads, or abroad, can be the actual claim process itself. Accident Advice Helpline aims to make that claim process as transparent as possible.

What is the first step I should take when making a claim for compensation?

The first step is to find out if you are eligible to claim for compensation. If you’ve been injured at work, on the roads, or abroad, within the last 3 years and it wasn’t your fault, then you may qualify for compensation. The next step is to get in touch with Accident Advice Helpline in order for us to aid your claim process.

How long does it take for a claim to be processed?

The time taken to settle each individual case varies depending on a number of factors, including how long it takes the respondent party to contact Accident Advice Helpline, admission of fault or liability by the respondent party, and the assessment of appropriate damages in the circumstances.

Any amounts quoted by an adviser are guideline amounts and may not accurately reflect the final amount of compensation.

Do I need to appear in court?

Whilst we cannot guarantee that you will not have to appear in court, most claims for compensation can be processed via telephone and many of our clients do not have to appear in court at all.
