Car Safety Guide – What is the safest large family car?

When choosing which car to buy, families often put safety at the top of their list. The car must be able to hold a child safety seat and the seatbelts should be adjustable to fit small children. NCAP tests are conducted on vehicles to determine how safe they are in the event of a collision or crash with another car so it is a good idea to have a look at how your chosen vehicle performed in these tests before purchasing. According to NCAP, the safest large family car is the BMW 3 Series which comes complete with seatbelt reminders and stability control among many other safety features. It is also a stylish model with plenty of boot space and lots of room to hold a large family. It performed well on the adult and child safety tests conducted by NCAP. Although this car performed well in the NCAP tests, it does not prevent accidents from happening while out driving. Hazards on the road could cause an accident or another driver may be negligent.

    Potential hazards on the road

Hazards on the road can be reduced if you drive carefully and stick to the speed limit. It is also advisable to use the safety features in your car to ensure that any accidents on the road do not cause severe injuries to your passengers. Hazards may include reckless drivers, slippery or icy roads, animals on the road, pedestrians running onto the road or even poor weather conditions. Occasionally events can occur which cannot be predicted so it is wise to avoid driving in poor weather and ensure that you drive carefully on slippery roads and when passing areas where there are likely to be a lot of pedestrians. Should you have an accident as a result of another driver or even a pedestrian, you may be able to make a claim for compensation.
