Surprising road traffic accidents

Nobody ever expects to have a car accident on the, but some accidents are even more surprising than others. There you are, going about your way following all the necessary rules and regulations, and before you know it, your car is a wreck and you have been injured by a road accident. There is no doubt that neither of the two drivers crossing the junction in this video expected to have an accident.

What causes car accidents like this?

Why the driver coming from the left did not stop at the red light could be down to several reasons:

  • He/ she was distracted and did not see the light or the two cars crossing in front of him/ her
  • He/ she was in a hurry and took the risk of running the light in the hope ‘they could make it’
  • He/ she was going too fast and did not have time to stop when realising their light was on red
  • He/ she was drunk

Potential for injury compensation claims

One driver has pulled into the middle of the road after the light went to green and stopped to let a vehicle coming from the opposite direction pass before turning. This vehicle is hit by a car failing to stop at a red light. Both of these vehicles then crash into the one waiting to turn.

Assessment of responsibility – Whatever the reason for the driver’s failure to stop in this clip was, it resulted in an accident damaging two other cars and potentially injuring the occupants of these cars.

Claim potentials – The occupants of the two cars crossing the junction on ‘green’ both have a case for claiming personal injury compensation. The driver running the light was without a doubt at fault and is subsequently liable to pay compensation for road traffic injuries.
