By David Brown on October 19, 2010

A blue Volkswagen Golf struck a telegraph pole on the Bridlington Bay Road at about 4.10pm, reports the Yorkshire Post, resulting in the elderly couple insuide requiring hospital treatment.

The 70 year old male driver sustained a broken breastbone and rib, while the 69 year old female passenger suffered minor head injuries in the accident. The couple, both from Filey,  were taken to Scarborough Hospital for treatment, and remain in a stable condition.
