    Forklift truck accidents at work

Forklift trucks accidents are decreasing in the UK each year but they are responsible for around 2,000 accidents a year according to HSE. Because of the weight of a forklift truck, injuries can be very severe and may result in crushed bones or even severed limbs. There are approximately seven deaths a year, according to 2015 data.

To avoid forklift truck accidents managers should be ensuring that staff are fully trained to use the machinery and have a responsible attitude. Health and safety law should be followed at all times and the forklifts should be checked before use and regularly maintained so as not to malfunction or cause accidents.

What to do if you have been injured at work

If you were hurt in a forklift truck accident, or any kind of accident at work, your employer should have logged it and reported it to HSE. If your injuries were serious, medical attention should have been sought. If your accident happened in the last three years and you would like to make a claim, contact Accident Advice Helpline today either online or over the phone.
