Can I Claim Compensation For an Accident at Work?

Accidents at work will always happen, because the world is full of surprises and not all of them are pleasant. But if such an incident happened to you one day, how would you deal with the aftermath? Many workplace accidents can lead to serious injuries and loss of earning potential. The physical pain alone is more than enough to deal with, but when our livelihood becomes compromised, then we need to take a serious look at the accident itself. The big question that is attached to any type of workplace accident is this – ‘whose fault was it?’ Legal specialist firms such as Accident Advice Helpline are more than willing to help injured employees pursue this line of enquiry on a no win, no fee* basis.

    Who is Liable?

If you are unfortunate enough to have an accident whilst at work, you may wish to make a claim for compensation. But before you can do this, it is wise to look at the facts surrounding your incident, and you need to do this carefully. If you intend to claim some type of financial compensation against your employer, you will need evidence to prove that they were to blame. This doesn’t mean that they physically caused you to fall over, or intended to harm you, but they may have not followed the correct health and safety procedures leading up to your accident. Your employer has a duty of care to create and maintain a safe working environment, and this can be fairly involved indeed. So if you suffer an injury in the workplace, you should look very closely at all of the factors that contributed to this outcome.

    After The Accident…

Just imagine this scenario, you are working away happily at your desk and suddenly your chair collapses. As a result, you hit the floor and your back is injured badly enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. Just a few days earlier, you asked your employer to provide a safer chair for you to sit on. He neglected to act on your advice and now you have become injured. We would recommend that you give Accident Advice Helpline a call for some immediate assistance. We are proud to have Esther Rantzen as our patron, and she believes in providing help to the general public whenever appropriate.
