    Broken nose recovery time explained

How long would the average broken nose recovery time be? Usually, a straightforward break will take a few weeks to heal completely. You shouldn’t do anything strenuous for a couple of weeks following the injury, and you should avoid sports like rugby or anything else that may involve contact with other players for six weeks at the minimum.

Many people can recover from their injury without seeking medical help. A broken nose is usually indicated by swelling and bruising over the nose and around the eyes. You may not be able to touch your nose because it is painful.

Can seeing medical professionals reduce the broken nose recovery time?

This is possible if you have complications from a broken nose. For example, if your nose is bleeding and it won’t stop, you should seek medical advice. It is also wise to go to casualty if you have a broken nose and it is no longer straight like it was before.

If you do experience any problems or have any concerns, it is always best to see your GP for advice. They will examine your nose to see if there are any issues that need to be dealt with. In some cases, a blood clot can form in the septum – the soft part between the nostrils. If this happens, it should be properly drained as quickly as possible.

Can you find out about making a claim too?

Many legal experts deal in personal injury cases, and where this is the case, they can often provide no-obligation advice regarding your broken nose recovery time and how you got the injury to begin with. If they believe there is good evidence someone was negligent and this led to your accident and broken nose, they may well be able to start a claim on your behalf.
