Awarded claims – a guide to the claims process

Setting out to claim compensation for the first time can be a confusing business. You might worry about understanding the legal issues involved or finding the right solicitor. Accident Advice has dealt with numerous successfully awarded claims. We have a network of expert solicitors and we are happy to provide you with a guide to the claims process – free of charge.

Getting advice from us starts with a phone call. Our lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so this could not be more convenient. As soon as you call, our trained advisers will be able to tell you if your prospective claim is valid. They will help you to work out how much compensation you might be due. You can then decide whether or not you want to go ahead. It is okay to take your time and we will never pressure you, but you will normally need to claim within three years of your accident taking place due to the statute of limitations that applies to most cases.

    What we cover

Accident Advice Helpline works with many different kinds of solicitor and has secured awarded claims across a range of areas. We cover personal injuries like slips, trips and falls, as well as cases involving traffic accidents and accidents at work. We also deal with medical negligence claims and claims involving illness that was somebody else’s fault. If you are not sure whether or not we will be able to help you, you are welcome to call us anyway to receive expert guidance relating to the claims process.

In order for us to help you, you will normally need to have received medical treatment and you will need evidence relating the circumstances surrounding your accident or illness that proves it was not your fault. If there were any witnesses, you can increase your chances of making a successful claim by getting their contact details. It also helps if you take photographs of the area in which your accident happened and of the injuries you sustained.

    A good solicitor

Having a good solicitor makes all the difference when claiming compensation. The solicitors in our network have many awarded claims under their belts and we will take care to match you up with a solicitor who has the right field of expertise. This means they will be able to take care of things like getting witness statements and dealing with complex legal issues. They will deal with most of the paperwork and you will be able to talk to them over the phone rather than having to make time for office visits. This should help to take the pressure off you at a time when you really need to concentrate on recovery.

    A successful claim

We can’t promise that your claim will be successful, but we will do our best to make it happen. If it the claim is unsuccessful, we will not even ask for a fee. When we win cases, we normally take our fee from the losing side, so you can set your mind at ease. A successful claim could mean you receive full compensation for your suffering, as well as money for any expenses incurred and for help to put your life back together. Ask us for a guide to the claims process and we can help put you back in control.
