"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

An uninsured driver caused my car crash, can I claim?

Being involved in a car accident can be a scary and stressful ordeal and if you sustain any injuries it can sometimes be a long road to recovery. However, finding out that an uninsured driver caused your car collision can make things a lot more stressful.

Can I still make a car crash claim if the driver is uninsured?

If you sustain any driver injuries and the other driver is uninsured there are still ways of receiving compensation for any damage. This would not go through the usual car collision claim route but would need to go through the Motor Insurance Bureau.

What is the Motor Insurance Bureau?

They are an organisation set up specifically to help those that have sustained driver injuries or been involved in a car crash with an uninsured or untraceable driver. If the other driver in the car crash was uninsured this is your only route of reclaiming compensation for any damage. You would need to put a claim through this organisation who would conduct an investigation to see whether you could be eligible for driver injury compensation.

Being in a car crash can be a terrifying experience and the thought of having to go through the claims process can make it all the more stressful. Whether the other driver is insured or uninsured the whole thing can be daunting and if you are still recovering from injuries it can be much more difficult.
