    As part of Operation Slowdown initiated by the RPU, the Leighton Buzzard Road (A4146) in Hemel Hempstead was designated as an accident black spot with a history of serious car crashes. Operation Slowdown is the programme initiated by the RPU in order to reduce the amount of accidents that occur on Hertfordshire’s roads. Other roads that were included as part of Operation Slowdown were:

    • Batchworth Lane, Moor Park
    • Broadhall Way (A602) Stevenage
