Survivor guide: Visiting the Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is one of the most iconic pieces of architecture in the world. Located in Agra, India, the white marble mausoleum is recognised as a masterpiece of design and in 1983 the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO world heritage site.

Despite being a world cultural heritage site, the Taj Mahal is not unlike any other tourist attraction in the fact that accidents can occur. If you do suffer an accident such as a slip, trip or fall whilst visiting the Taj Mahal, then you could be entitled to claim for personal injury compensation.

Avoiding a travel accident at the Taj Mahal

    • Do not stay long in larger crowds, especially if you already have a medical condition. If you are being pushed around in a crowd of people then there is a greater likelihood of you falling over and suffering a personal injury.
    • Take plenty of water so that you are hydrated throughout your visit, especially during the hotter summer months, to reduce you chance of collapsing in the heat and putting yourself in danger of having an accident.
    • Plan your trip to the Taj Mahal with plenty of extra time – rushing around could cause you to fall and trip
    • When travelling by road make sure that you always wear a seatbelt to reduce the risk of having a road traffic accident.
