Situated in central Saudi Arabia, Riyadh is unique in that its beautiful modern appearance is mixed in with its extremely conservative way of life. Although some people may find the culture shock a little hard to adjust to, it shouldn’t put visitors off as there are plenty of reasons to take the flight to Riyadh. Pay a visit to the state of the art National Museum to see an array of Arabian art and history or stop to admire the contemporary architecture of Kingdom Tower. Try out some of the local dishes in a restaurant such as Mirage or Najd Village to top off your Arabian experience.
Safety information when visiting Riyadh
The desert heat can be a shock to some travellers so always ensure your exposure is minimised and wear appropriate clothing. As it is so hot it might be uncomfortable to wear, but it is a necessity that women wear an abaya which is a kind of cloak to cover the body. It is also essential to cover the head with a headscarf. Road accidents are not uncommon as many drivers do not follow any traffic laws so be extra vigilant when on the road or when crossing as a pedestrian. If you book a package holiday to Riyadh and you feel that your safety was put at risk during any point of your holiday organised by the travel company, then you may be able to make an accident or injury claim.
Package Travel Regulations
You may make a compensation claim to the travel company if:
- You booked your holiday with a UK company
- You booked your holiday as a package deal
- Your accident, injury or illness occurred during your flight, transfers, at your hotel or during any excursion which were pre-booked
A personal injury law firm can assist you with your claim should you choose to hold the company liable.
Making your claim
Accident Advice Helpline is free to call 24/7 and our experts in holiday compensation claims will be able to advise you on the amount of compensation you are likely to receive. The law states that it is your right to claim for compensation if you have an accident that is someone else’s fault and this does not change just because you are abroad. Our no win, no fee* policy means that you won’t have to pay anything upfront and you are under no obligation to make a claim once you call us.
