    Survivor Guide: Visiting Moscow

An array of contemporary skyscrapers, medieval churches, nightclubs and restaurants await visitors to the Russian capital of Moscow. History buffs will enjoy paying a visit to the Museum of the Great Patriotic War dedicated to WWII and those who want to lap up the various cathedrals will love the sight of the domes on St Basil’s Cathedral. The Turandot restaurant is a sight to be seen, with 14 rooms uniquely modelled on significant historical periods in Russia’s history. Although you will be busy seeing the sights, there are safety issues specific to Moscow that you should be aware of before you travel.

    Safety tips when visiting Moscow

Taking photos of the police, government officials or government buildings is not illegal but it can draw unnecessary attention to yourself and police may ask to see your passport. Carry a copy of your passport instead of the real thing to avoid losing it or having it stolen by pickpockets. If you pay a visit to any of the churches, dress appropriately, covering your legs and shoulders. To avoid water-borne illness, do not drink the tap water and instead buy bottles of water. Traffic can be quite fast and many drivers do not give pedestrians the right of way so exercise caution when crossing the roads. There may be an accident on the road on the way to your hotel or you may trip over some damaged flooring in the hotel while on holiday. If this does happen, you can make a holiday compensation claim due to the negligence of the staff who work for the holiday company.

    Holiday compensation claims advice

Accident Advice Helpline is a law firm which helps victims of accidents, illnesses and injuries that were the fault of a third party. If you want to make a straightforward holiday claim then, under UK law, you can apply for compensation directly to the holiday company if your accident occurred during your flights, transfers, during pre-arranged trips or at the hotel. This is provided these elements were part of a package holiday deal. Our claims process is straightforward and we make contact with any third parties involved for you. Just be sure to keep some evidence of your claim, for example, pictures of damaged flooring or staircases. This will help us fight your case for you and we will be more likely to win you a cash sum.
