    Survivor guide: Oulton Park

    Survivor guide: Oulton Park

Situated close to Little Budworth, Cheshire, Oulton Park is hailed as one of the UK’s best-loved, most picturesque racing circuits. Embracing the countryside’s natural contours, Oulton Park offers a combination of spectacular racing, stunning scenery and superb circuit views.

    Oulton Park events and facilities

The track is host to many major and club level events, including the annual BTCC (British Touring Car Championships) round, which regularly attracts up to 35,000 visitors. Other main events include two British Superbike Championship rounds; the British F3/GT and the HSCC’s historic Gold Cup Meeting. It is also the setting for the Car Fest North, which offers festival visitors many automotive delights, music and culinary treats. The Fogarty Moss Centre and Chequers Restaurant and Bar provide visitors with welcome nourishment and refreshments.

    Accidents at Oulton Park

Where there are large crowds, there is usually the risk of accidental injuries. Oulton Park is no exception to this rule. Visitors are therefore, advised to help prevent personal injuries by:

    • Remaining within allocated spectator areas during race events
    • Keeping alcohol consumption at reasonable, safe levels
    • Considering others’ safety by not littering walkways and passages
    • Looking out for and reporting hazards likely to cause slip or trip injuries to circuit personnel as soon as possible

For obvious reasons, the paddock and pit complex should not be entered during busy race periods unless invited to do so.

    Poor weather and oil

During poor weather conditions, it is obviously especially important to prevent slip injuries by walking carefully and staying on the look-out for wet or muddy patches on both interior and exterior pathways. If and when invited to visit the paddock and pit complex, looking out for patches of oil is also highly recommended.

    Most common causes of injuries

While circuit staff members do their best to prevent injuries by slipping and tripping, slips, trips and falls are by far the most common causes of injuries to spectators during these kinds of events. If you suffered a slip or trip injury at Oulton Park or similar venue, you may be entitled to personal injury compensation.
