    Survivor guide: Hampton Court Palace

Dating back to the 15th century, Hampton Court Palace is one of England’s finest architectural treasures. Located just a short train or bus ride from Central London, this superb palace attracts thousands of visitors from the UK and beyond each year. If you’re planning a day out at Hampton Court Palace and you want to avoid slips, trips and falls and ensure everyone returns home in good health and with fond memories, here are a few simple tips:

Preventing accidents at Hampton Court Palace

Hampton Court Palace is a place of splendour and wonder and it is rare for accidents to happen; however, as with any public place, there is a risk of injury and it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled and being alert to spot potential hazards and stay safe. The most common types of public place accident are falls, slips and trips and here are some dangers you may encounter on a trip to Hampton Court Palace:

    • Uneven ground
    • Obstructions on staircases and doorways
    • Wet floors and spillages

To ensure you enjoy your trip, it’s a good idea to watch out for warning signs, always look where you’re going and also to ensure you have suitable footwear; hiking in the gardens and scaling ancient staircases in high heels is probably not the best idea. Keep to the sign-posted routes and steer clear of areas that are sectioned off or closed temporarily for maintenance work.
