    Survivor guide: Goodwood

Situated five miles to the north of West Sussex city Chichester, Goodwood is more than just a horse racing track. Set within the Sussex Downs’ breathtaking beauty, Goodwood House and Estate offer visitors everything from tranquillity and peace to thrilling adventures.

    Goodwood facilities

In addition to a hotel with fitness centre, swimming pool and more, Goodwood facilities include a horse racing track, motor sport circuit and golf, as well as spa, business and event facilities; several restaurants, an aero club and more. Goodwood also offers a wide range of activities and experiences.

    Goodwood activities

School children can expect exciting farm or woodland experiences, while corporate outings include team-building activities like:

    • Assault course (giant tractor)
    • Four x Four, walking and mountain bike orienteering
    • Giant sculpture building
    • Mountain boarding
    • Off road vehicle adventuress
    • Powerboat, sailing and rib team challenges
    • Sheep herding
    • Cooking
    • Watercolour painting
    • Tree climbing

Other experiences include golf, spa or track days; driving, music and flight experiences; textile workshops, testing days, and more.

    Goodwood safety

Goodwood’s owners are determined to ensure every visit to the estate is perfect and visitors are not exposed to the risk of preventable personal injuries. Preventing injuries at Goodwood includes assessing and minimising risks every time a group or school visit is booked and, if necessary, changing activities to safer options. Woodland adventures for schoolchildren, for example, may be changed to farm visits if high winds present a risk of children being injured by falling branches.

    Survival tips

In spite of Goodwood’s outstanding efforts to minimise risks of accidental injuries, accidents are still possible. To help prevent this from happening, visitors should:

    • Follow instructions at all times
    • Obey estate rules and regulations
    • Look out for potential hazards likely to cause slips, trips and falls and report them to estate authorities immediately
    • Do not take unnecessary risks when participating in experiences
