There are so many landmarks and sights to see around London that it is impossible to see them all in one day, even in a weekend. If you want a whistle stop tour then your best bet will be driving around so that you can see lots of different places in the day. However, London is a very busy city and can be difficult to drive around as many road traffic accidents occur throughout the area.
How to survive car sightseeing in London
Whilst driving around the city it is too easy to get wrapped up in the sights and focus on them and not the road. This is when car crashes occur when your attention is taken away from the road. London is also known to be a very congested city and as such a road traffic accident can occur involving several vehicles. Car accidents can also frequently occur in the city when other road users do not notice other vehicles either overtaking or turning out from a side road.
The most important thing to remember whilst sightseeing around London is to always stay focussed on the road ahead. If there is a particular landmark you want to get a proper look at, then park up or stop somewhere. This way you will help to prevent a road traffic accident and will keep your attention on the road.
Also, plan your journey before you leave. This will not only mean you will be more relaxed and able to concentrate on the road as you will know the route you are taking but you will also be able to plan the amount of time you need thus you will be less likely to rush which will reduce the risk of being involved a car crash.
Finally, make sure you take regular breaks. Driving can be tiring work so to make sure you don’t get tired at the wheel make sure you stop every so often. This way you will not only reduce the risk of a car crash but you will have more reason to explore a bit of London by foot.
