Bowling alleys can be a lot of fun. They can be a place for competitions, for family time or just a bit of social bonding. However, if you don’t respect the rules of the bowling alley accidents can happen. The most common of these accidents being slips, trips and falls.
How are slips, trips or falls caused at bowling alleys?
One of the main causes of slip injuries at a bowling alley is extremely slippery surfaces of the alley itself. This can be caused by misuse of the alley, messing around and not looking where you are going or just bad luck.
How to prevent a slip, trip or fall claim?
There are several things you can do to avoid any slip claims at a bowling alley.
First of all, make sure you are wearing the appropriate footwear. If you don’t have bowling shoes most alleys have them available to hire. These shoes are specially made for bowling so will help to prevent any slip, trips or falls.
Also, don’t mess around on the alley itself. This is a very slippery surface and if you start running about and jumping on it then a slip injury is very likely. When you are bowling, be careful not to go too far up the lane as this is not only cheating, but the alley itself is the most slippery of surfaces so the further back you have to walk on it the more likely you are to slip up.
Other than that, just be careful and be aware when you are at the alley. If you watch where you are walking then you will greatly decrease your chances of a slip, trip or fall. This will also help others avoid having to make a slip, trip or fall claim as there will be less risk of you falling into them.
