If you burn yourself whilst making a hot drink at work, can you claim?

When you are making a hot drink at work the last thing you think about is the chance of having an accident such as a slip, trip or fall which could cause a nasty burn. However, can you make an accident claim if you did burn yourself?

How can you burn yourself whilst making a hot drink at work?

There are many ways in which you could sustain a burn whilst making a of hot drink. One of the most common ways you can burn yourself is when you have a slip, trip or fall.

When you are carrying a large tray of hot drinks it can be easy to have a slip, trip or fall which could lead to a nasty burn. This could be through lack of concentration, tripping on loose carpet or simply the tray tipping up or walking into a worker or a colleague walking into you.

Is there any time when you could make a claim following a slip, trip or fall?

Although not every slip, trip or fall leading to burns can be blamed on the company and lead to a claim there are certain situations where a slip, trip or fall claim could be made. One of the main ways in which a slip, trip or fall leading to a burn can be grounds to make a claim is if the company is at fault. This may be in the form of broken flooring or loose wiring.

Alternatively if you have sustained a slip injury from a spillage after making a round of hot drinks which has not been either cordoned off or cleared up this could also be grounds for a slip, trip or fall claim.
