What are the least dangerous sports?

Every sport can be dangerous, some more than others, with injuries tending to occur more often during contact sports. You should always be aware of the possible dangers of playing sports before you participate in them. We take a look at some of the least dangerous sports.

At look at the least dangerous sports

    1. Swimming: Supervised swimming in a pool is one of the least dangerous sports. If you are coached to have the right technique and maintain your fitness, swimming can be a fun and rewarding sport to participate in.
    2. Golf: Avoiding injuries in golf is relatively easy, just stay aware of your surroundings at all times and keep a safe distance from someone swinging a club.
    3. Tennis: Tennis is another non-contact sport which is relatively safe to play. As long as you avoid overworking your body and take a break if you feel uncomfortable, you will avoid the typical muscle injuries and strains associated with the sport.
    4. Fencing: It may come as a surprise that a sport that includes weaponry is included in our list of least dangerous sports. However, whilst it may look dangerous, fencing is actually one of the safest sports. Fencers must wear protective helmets and body padding, which are designed to withstand a blow from any type of fencing swords.

Claiming compensation for a sports injury

Many people associate compensation with slips and trips in a public place or a work accident, but there are some instances when it is possible to make a personal injury claim for a sports accident.

If you’ve been injured by another person or you’ve sustained an injury in a public place as a result of negligence on the part of the supervisor, the management company or the local council, you may have a valid public liability claim.
