    Although there are no serious injuries documented where the victim has slipped on a banana peel, the latest trend of 2016 is for social media users to purposely place the skin of the fruit on the floor and video as their friends slip on a banana peel.

    This new online meme was originally created for comedic value, after all, everyone enjoys a blooper from time to time. That being said, we are now seeing injuries where victims have slipped on a banana peel, and so the online fad has become a somewhat hazardous trend.
