"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

Can I claim on behalf of someone else?

In the vast majority of compensation cases, the individual who suffered injuries as a result of accidents at work will be the person making the claim. However, there are circumstances when you may be making a claim on behalf of someone else. If you would like advice about claiming compensation, call Accident Advice Helpline today.

When it is possible to claim on behalf of someone else?

Most people who are injured as a result of somebody else’’s negligence will pursue a claim for compensation themselves. However, in some cases, this may not be possible. Examples of situations when a person may make a claim on behalf of someone else include:

    • When a parent is making a claim after their child suffers an injury
    • When an individual has been left with severe health problems or is incapacitated following an accident and they cannot make their own claim
    • When an individual has been killed in an accident, for which they were not at fault

If you are claiming compensation on behalf of somebody else, the payout could enable you to start rebuilding your lives. You may also be able to use the money to cover lost earnings or ongoing medical costs for a loved one who requires round-the-clock care or treatments, such as physiotherapy.
