Can you claim if you hire faulty paddle boards?

Paddle boarding is a popular pursuit. It can be great fun, especially if you’re spending the day with friends and family, but it can also be dangerous. In many cases, you can head out paddle boarding and return without any injuries, but it’s always advisable to be wary of potential hazards. Injuries can be caused by loss of control, battling adverse weather conditions or trying to be too ambitious for your skill level. You may also be a victim of injuries if you hire faulty paddle boards. In this case, it’s wise to contact Accident Advice Helpline to find out more about claiming compensation.

Can you claim if you hire faulty paddle boards?

Compensation is an amount of money which is awarded in the event of an injury or illness that stems from negligence on the part of another person or a group of people. If you’ve been injured, and you were not at fault for the accident, you have the right to claim compensation. In the case of paddle boarding injuries, you wouldn’t be able to claim if you fell off the board because you were trying to show off your new-found skills. You could make a claim if an accident happened because you rented faulty equipment. If you hire faulty paddle boards, for example, the company that provides the boards would be liable for your injuries.

    What should I do next?

If you’ve been injured after hiring broken paddle boards or you sustained injuries as a result of using faulty safety equipment, for example, try and gather as much information about the incident as possible to use as evidence for your paddle board injury claim. Write down exactly what happened, ask any witnesses to do the same, and seek medical advice. Take photographs of your injuries, and the equipment with which you were provided, and call Accident Advice Helpline. If you can prove that your paddle boarding accident was caused by somebody else’s negligence, and the accident happened in the last three years, we can help.
