Avoiding accidents: A5 London to Holyhead

Whenever you think about the most car accident prone roads you often think about motorways, as these are not only the fastest roads but also often the busiest. However, other roads can be just as prone to road traffic accidents occurring, especially dual carriageways and A roads.

A roads are major roads which often lead out of London. For this reason they can be very congested at times and you may see car accidents along these routes. One such road which can often be the location of a road traffic accident is the A5 from London to Holyhead.

Why is the A5 a road traffic accident black spot?

The A5 is a road traffic accident black spot for many reasons. Firstly, most roads from London tend to be busy especially during rush hour, due to the volume of people who work in the city.

What’s more, Holyhead is a very well-used port for travel to places such as Ireland, and as such it is used frequently by drivers, leading to additional traffic on the A5 road and, thus, increasing the risk of drivers experiencing a car accident.

How to avoid a car collision on the A5

There are several steps you can take to help prevent a car crash from happening on this road. If you can avoid it, do not travel during peak times as you are more likely to become stressed and lose focus or other drivers may lose concentration and cause a car crash.

Also, make sure you leave plenty of time to reach your destination to avoid a car collision. If you leave early you are less likely to be stressed about getting there on time and you are less likely to feel the need to speed, reducing the risk of a road traffic accident further.

However, car accidents can and do still happen including on the A5. If you have been involved in a road traffic accident in the last three years, which wasn’t your fault, you may be able to make a claim.
