    Accident in Sheffield?

Sheffield is a busy, bustling city in South Yorkshire famed for its football teams and steel production. The city has a population of over 550,000 people so it is easy to appreciate there are many potential accident claims waiting to happen. One of the main potential accident claims waiting to happen are road traffic accidents.

Why are car accident claims more prevalent in this city?

With such a large population it is natural to assume there will be many cars on the roads. These roads get even busier in the summer months when tourism is at its highest the more cars on the road the more potential risks of a car accident happening. Added to this, the fact it is a busy city and the risk of a car crash increases.

How to stay safe and avoid road traffic accidents

No matter how safe and careful we are, occasionally car accidents do happen which are out of our control. However, there are many accidents that we can prevent from happening. Firstly, when travelling in the city make sure you plan your journey ahead and leave plenty of time to get to your destination. This will not only make you calmer and less prone to road rage but will mean you won’t need to rush or speed thus greatly reducing the risk of a car collision.

Other than that, always make sure you are aware of your positioning in the road and the location of others around you. If you are aware of other road users you can often pre-empt their movements and spot those potential car accidents and prevent them. Being aware of your surroundings is mainly about hazard perception, spotting potential car accidents before they happen. The more aware you are the less likely you are to experience a car accident.

Sometimes, no matter what you do, road traffic accidents can and do happen. If you have been involved in a car accident within the last three years that wasn’t your fault you may be eligible to make a car crash claim.
