    Accident hotspots in Gloucester

There are a number of accident hotspots in Gloucester which road users must take extra care when passing through, in order reduce their risk of being involved in road traffic accidents.

In June 2013, The Gloucester Road Safety Partnership (RSP) urged motorists to drive safely along the A466, A48, A417 and A38, highlighting a particular increase in motorcycle accidents between 2009 and 2011.

Such a rise will have caused an increase in motorbike accident claims, as well as in numbers of people injured in a road traffic accident who may be eligible to claim for road traffic accident compensation.

When driving on these roads in particular, please take all the necessary precautions to ensure you are not at risk of being involved in road traffic collision, which could lead to serious personal injury.

    Taking precautions on the road

If you are driving a car, always take extra time to look for motorcycles at junctions, and ensure you look carefully in your rear view and wing mirrors for motorcycles and cyclists who may be in your immediate vicinity.

A failure to check all possible angles when pulling out of a junction, both as a car driver and motorcyclist, can significantly increase the danger of being involved in a life-threatening collision.
