At Accident Advice Helpline we’re proud to offer a free advice service to accident victims. Our aim is to make it easier for people to find out if they might have a right to compensation. We don’t think this is something you should have to pay for. We want to see fewer people missing out on what the law says they’re entitled to.
Online claim calculator
The advice service we offer starts on our website, where you can find our online claim calculator. This handy device is designed to help you work out how much compensation you might be due. It uses information from previous claims to make an estimate.
Using the online claim calculator is a great option for people who don’t yet feel able to talk to anyone about their accident. We realise that you may need some time before you feel ready, but we must warn you that there is a three year legal limit on most types of claim, so make sure you don’t leave it too late.
Free advice with no obligation
Our helpline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can call whenever it’s convenient. Calling us costs nothing and it doesn’t mean that you’re obliged to start a claim with us. We know that you may already be under a lot of stress and we won’t add to that by pressurising you. If you want to take your time and perhaps get back to us later, that’s absolutely fine. All you need to do is dial 0800 689 0500.
Many people call us to ask if they have a legally valid claim, and that’s a question we are usually able to answer straight away. If you have an unusual or borderline case, we’ll offer to put you in touch with a solicitor who can advise you – again, free of charge.
As well as using the online claim calculator and the free advice service available through our helpline, you can browse this website to find numerous examples of the kinds of cases we handle. This will give you an idea of the different issues that arise in different kinds of case, and will help you to identify any possible complicating factors in your own case, which we will be happy to discuss with you.
Browsing our site can also help you to work out the best way to collect evidence in your particular case. Usually, the sooner you start gathering evidence, the easier it is to build a strong case.
Working with a solicitor
If you decide you want to claim, we can put you in touch with a solicitor working on a no win, no fee basis. Your solicitor can then examine the evidence with you and work out how to get you the best possible compensation settlement. We’ll try to minimise any travel involved, but if it is needed then we advise that you keep your receipts. You may be able to claim for these as part of the settlement.
Armed with this information, we hope that you will feel better able to assert your rights.
