Who we've helped - an AAH success story
“I was previously employed as a weaver for a large textiles company. On the day of the accident my employers asked me to repair one of the large weaving machines.
I turned the machine off so that I could make the adjustments. I was standing on a step ladder to reach the top of the machine.
Without warning me, one of my colleagues decided to turn the machinery on. The resulting vibration shook me and I was helpless to stop myself falling from the top of the stepladder and landing very roughly on the ground.
I reported the injury to my superiors and then arranged to be taken to the doctor, where it was confirmed that I had sustained a muscular injury to my lower back.
I made a work injury claim for compensation by filling in the 30 second test on Accident Advice Helpline’s website, and I was able to claim £2000.”
