I was saying goodbye to my father outside my house in south London, and was standing in the road beside the driver’s side door. Suddenly a car turned out of a side road about ten metres away and roared towards us at great speed. Thankfully for my dad, he was already inside his car with the door closed but I wasn’t quite as lucky. Even though I tried to get out of the way pronto, the car ran over my right foot. The driver then screeched to a halt and starting flinging insults in my direction, as if it was all my fault.
I wasn’t impressed but managed to calm him down and avoid a fight, for which he seemed to be quite ready.
I got his details whenever my dad intervened.
I had fractured several bones in my foot and since I work as an electrician, I was going to be off work for a few weeks.
I got in touch with Accident Advice Helpline via their 30 second test. I made an injury compensation claim and was awarded £5000.
If you’ve been injured and you don’t think it was your fault, why not claim today?
