Slips, Trips & Falls Compensation Claims

Have you been injured in a slip, a trip or a fall?

This is one of the most common types of accidents, affecting large numbers of people across the UK every year. Accident Advice Helpline specialises in this kind of accident and we have helped thousands of people claim compensation for injuries suffered from this type of accident.

To make a claim you must have been injured in the last three years, and the accident must have been somebody else's fault. Generally we can only help you if your injury required medical attention. If the accident happened in a public place such as a trip on a broken or uneven pavement the local council will have public liability insurance to cover any compensation claims. Slips or trips in any public place will generally be covered by public liability insurance. We have specialist solicitors to deal with each type of slip trip or fall cases.

If your accident happened whilst you were at work your employer is required by law to have employers liability insurance. This means that if you get injured at work you will be covered by their insurance. This also means that you will not be claiming against your employer, but rather the employers liability insurance company.

Who we've helped - an AAH success story

"I had just returned from holiday and needed to use the airport toilets. I walked through the door of the gents’ and turned left.

Suddenly I slipped and crashed to the floor. I managed to get to my feet unaided and noticed that I had slipped on a spillage of water (thankfully, not something else.)

The attendant fetched one of his supervisors who took me to his office. There, I filled out an accident report form. He told me a leaking pipe was to blame for the spillage on which I had slipped. Although a wet floor sign was subsequently put up, it had not been present when I had had my accident.

After the incident I was in a great deal of discomfort, with the soft tissue damage to my arm meaning the muscles often locked into place. My doctor confirmed my injuries and told me to take it easy.

I took Accident Advice Helpline’s 30 second test after I had sought medical advice, and was delighted to be awarded £5000 for my slip/trip/fall claim."
