An inquest has found that the death of a Manx woman was caused by an unavoidable road traffic accident.
Drusilla ‘Dru’ Jane Hamm suffered from a cardiac arrhythmia, which caused her to collapse while she was in the middle of a road near the Hop Garden pub, in Santon, Isle of Man, on November 4th last year.
Her unconscious form was then hit by an unnamed driver and she was killed instantly.
Taxi driver Juan Paul Heavey, who found Ms Hamm’s body after it had been hit, stopped and directed traffic while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.
The coroner of inquests, Alistair Montgomerie, praised Mr Heavey for his actions and assured the man who ran her over that there was nothing he could have done in the circumstances.
