Two men have escaped injury after an arson attempt at their home.
At about 1.30 this morning the front door of a house in Kings Avenue, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, was set alight, but the two occupants managed to raise the alarm and escape without any injuries.
Local councillor Lyn Frazer condemned the incident. She told the Belfast News Letter:
"This attack must have been horrific for the two men in the house at the time and the community will be deeply shocked at news of this incident.”
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has appealed for information about the attack.
