Little girl avoids injury after eight-floor plunge

by Tejas Mehta 3 November 2010

A little girl has miraculously escaped serious injury after she fell from the open window of an eighth-floor apartment.

The accident happened on the junction of  Cours de Vincennes and the Rue des Pyrenees in eastern Paris, on Monday afternoon, allegedly after the girl’s parents went for a walk and left the 18-month-old in the company of her three-year-old sister.

She fell out of the window but bounced on the awning of a ground-floor restaurant and landed in the arms of a doctor, Philippe Benseniot, who took her to hospital for a check up. However, she had not been injured.

"I was there at the right time," he said. "I'm happy for the little girl."

The little girl’s parents have been detained for questioning, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
