Accident Advice Helpline Win £87,500 Compensation for Injured Worker

by Injury Claim 2 December 2009

A painting contractor from Basingstoke was seriously injured after falling 35 feet from a ladder whilst at work. The male worker was instructed by his employer to clear out the gutters on a block of flats when the ladder gave way under him and he was left dangling 35 feet in the air. Eventually, unable to hang on the man fell to the ground and sustained a pelvis injury, landing him in hospital.

Days later he contacted Accident Advice Helpline who were able to take care of everything and help and advise him following the accident. The accident advice helpline injury solicitor managed to ascertain and prove that the employer had been at fault. The ladder being used was not suitable for the job and there was nobody supporting the ladder. The employee felt that scaffolding should’ve been in place for this kind of work.

The man continues to suffer with ongoing pain. Accident Advice Helpline helped him with his compensation claim and he recently received a cheque for £87,500 as compensation for his injuries, loss of earnings and suffering.
