Residents of Cambridge make more personal injury claims than those in any other city, a survey has revealed.
A poll of 3,000 people by a leading claims management company revealed that the historic city notches up more claims than its nearest rivals, Aberystwyth in Wales and Coventry.
Implying it is home to more careful drivers and safer employment practices, the city with the lowest rate of claims, at only 6.25 per cent, was Gloucester.
The study, reported by the Coventry Telegraph, also revealed that the Welsh are most likely to phone their parents following an accident, with Cardiff and Swansea topping the listings for that poll.
A spokesman for the claims specialists said: “We know that the British stiff upper lip usually means we keep quiet about things like claiming but there is no reason to suffer at the hands of somebody else.
“Hopefully after seeing this table and some of the facts from our research the public will understand that there is no shame in a claim.”
