A bodybuilder from Wales has been ordered to pay compensation to his estranged partner after a court found that he had tried to give her laxatives as a way of controlling her.
Dominating Paul Williams, of Denbighshire, twice offered to make his partner, Laurie, hot drinks during a reconciliation last December when he was staying at her house, according to BBC News, but on both occasions she threw the contents into the sink, noticing that the residue contained some over-the-counter Senna laxative tablets.
The prosecution inferred that Williams intended to control his partner by making her feel weakened and unwell. Senna can cause a dramatic loss of vital fluids if taken incorrectly.
While compensation claims for this sort of incident are unusual, nevertheless Williams was ordered to pay £750 to his partner for the discomfort he caused her.
