Oxfordshire pedestrian dies after being hit by lorry

by Richard Robins 15 November 2010

An Oxfordshire man has died after he was hit by a lorry whilst out for a walk.

The 39-year-old, who has not yet been named, was given first aid at the scene by an off-duty police officer and the driver of the lorry. He was taken to Swindon’s Great Western Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries after arrival.

Police told the BBC that the HGV driver, who has not been arrested, was helping police with their enquiries.

The A420 was closed for four hours following the crash, which happened on Friday evening.
