The driver of a humble Vauxhall Corsa chose the wrong time to try and live dangerously when his supermini ploughed into a Ferrari travelling in the opposite direction.
While the driver of the supercar was uninjured, three boys travelling in the Corsa were less fortunate. The youngsters, aged 10, 11 and 11, were taken to University Hospital in Coventry, reports This is Gloucestershire, although two of them have since been released. The remaining child, one of the eleven-year-olds, remains there with ‘serious but not life-threatening’ injuries. The front-seat passenger was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital with head injuries. Again, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
The collision happened at around 6.30 last night, on the B4035 near Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire. The force of the head-on crash caused the Vauxhall to leave the road altogether.
The 17-year-old driver of the Corsa was arrested on suspicion on dangerous driving, but released on bail pending further enquires.
The accident closed the road for around four hours.
